Mikonos offers an inviting atmosphere with charming, rustic décor. The food is very good and full of flavor, from the delicious Dip platter and tender grilled lamb chops to the savory Moussaka and fresh Greek salad. The attentive staff and thoughtfully curated drinks list enhance the dining experience. Don't miss the heavenly baklava for dessert and the authentic Greek coffee. Highly recommended for a delightful Greek culinary escape. My only complaint today was the gyro meat. They probably stuck it the wrong way because it doesn’t look like the gyro meat in Greece.
Lived in the area for sometime and always see how busy this place is. We had chicken soulaki and the baklava. The chicken was very good. Good sized portion. Loved the heated patio area that was available. The only drawback I had was the baklava was hard to cut through and enjoy with 2 people. Would def come back.
This place has been our go-to for amazing Greek food. From the roditis to the Loukoumades, this does it all. It has the best patio that will transport you to the islands. The saganaki is always crispy, hot and running the bread on the plate allows you to enjoy the drippings from the flambé. The zucchini crisps and skordalia is the perfect balance of garlic and tender veggies. Souvlaki and potatoes will be marinated to perfection. The Loukoumades is the best way to end the evening. The staff is always polite and treats you like family. You will have fun. You will love the atmosphere and food.
Stumbled on this place while between errands for a lunch on Saturday. We were seated out in the garden area - it was a little kitschy but actually made for a nice quiet atmosphere. The service was great and the food was really good. My dining partner and I shared small a greek salad (with anchovies). The big chunks of feta were great! I had the chicken kabob with potato and green beans. Nothing too special, but it made a nice, lighter lunch (I actually ended up bringing some home). My dining partner got the sampler platter. It was a ton of food (we ended up bringing some home). The overwhelming favorite was the gyro meat, but it was nice to try a bunch of things.
I will definitely come back again! Foods are awesome and I love everything we ordered tonight. Waiters are nice and they are friendly to all customers. I have never been to Greek but I would say they have one of the most authentic Greek food.
When I say 5 diamond ????????????????????!! I mean it! The food was fantastic, the service even better!! Stayed there for 3 hours eating and drinking! Love love love this place.
We had lunch a Mykonos for our Anniversary. Meli our server was friendly and excellent. She was attentive at filling out drinks throughout the meal. She was very knowledgeable about the food.
It was my first time in Chicago and first time visiting this restaurant. I truly don’t know where to start.. food was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere felt like I was transported to Greece - as a Cypriot living in the U.S. for a year now, visiting Mykonos restaurant made me feel like I was back at home for an hour or two. I absolutely loved the souvlakia that I ordered, the Greek salad was quite refreshing too and the charcoal grilled octopus was the main character of the evening. To end I had loukoumades covered with cinnamon as a small dessert, and that was the best cherry on top of the evening. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, it definitely deserves more than 5 stars.
I've had to correct my review for Mykonos. I went there for dinner recently and their gyros were much better than when I had gone for lunch some months ago. This time the gyro meat was tender, moist, and flavorful whereas I must have caught them at a bad time previously. My heart still belongs to another gyro place, but Mykonos is good too. The chargrilled octopus is amazing, worth the price in my opinion. Everything else has a homemade quality, from the braised lamb to the pork skewers. The food has a very particular style which may be surprising to some, but give it a chance. Live music was a bit loud, turn down that amp please, but it was appreciated.
Absolutely great food that was only matched by the excellent service we received during our meal. Our waitress, Meli, was absolutely amazing! She was super personable and kind, and also was super knowledgeable about every item we had asked about on the menu. We were a 12+ person table, and Meli didn't miss a beat with her service. I completely recommend Mykonos, and especially Meli, to anyone looking for quality Greek food.
